FLICfest 2013 Choreographers Announced
Monday, November 26, 2012 at 09:31AM New York, NY, October 25, 2012 – The Irondale Center is pleased to announce the lineup for FLICfest 2013. Curated by Jeramy Zimmerman/CatScratch Theatre, FLICfest presents independent dance artists working in a broad range of contemporary performance styles. Presented over two weekends, January 24 to February 2, FLICfest 2013 will feature 12 full-length works by 14 choreographers as well as a late-night cabaret and other public programs. All performances and events will take place at the Irondale Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
FLICfest offers artists and audiences an opportunity to engage with feature-length dance in a lively festival setting. In addition to the performances, FLICfest 2013 will offer movement workshops and a series of discussions that focus on creating feature-length work and self-producing. This season, FLICfest also introduces its Featured Brooklyn Dance-Maker program. Choreographer Alexandra Beller has been selected to be the first “featured” artist for her expertise in self-producing work. Beller will play an active role in the discussion series, which is open to the dance and performance community.
FLICfest 2013 will present two full-length works in Irondale’s main space on each of the six evenings. The late-night cabaret will be held in the venue’s balcony lounge each evening following the main stage performances.
